"Barber pole! I love barber poles! Barber pole I love you!" is not what Maria actually said...

Mom and Maggie and Buttercup went to the beach while I was in Florida.

I danced in the square even when no-one else did.

We went to see Cirque du Soleil La Nouba... This really isn't related, but Dad didn't take pictures during the show like they asked...

I also danced in the square even when it rained! (But not when it thundered and lightninged...)

I had Dad bring the camera to the pool - this is me under water...

And this is him under water...

And this is him playing with the settings on the camera to get a blue pool in a black and white picture...

After Dad left we went to the butterfly garden...

And I wasn't home for Buttercup's 4th birthday, but Mom made sure she had a great day!

Since I couldn't party with Buttercup, I partied with Scooter the DJ!

You can probably blame TC for this attractive shot of my Scooples meatball sub...

Here I am looking for Quinn at The Rural King. It is a long story involving Florida and Indiana...

Back in Oregon, I got to go to IKEA!

Dad was not improssed with my antics and chose to hide. I bet you can find him in this picture...

Of course, the big event for August was the Total Solar Eclipse... total solar eclipse... total solar eclipse...

Dad captured us in our finest solar eclipse eyewear.

Mom ensured Dad didn't get away clean and included him in this fabulous eyewear selfie.

They said you didn't have to worry about your dog, but we wanted Buttercup to enjoy the fun too.

Here is the big moment all by itself...

And here is more of a representation of the whole thing.

I also got to go to the beach and get in the North Pacific! Note that not even Buttercup followed me..."

The tidal pool was much warmer (even Mom walked in it) so we hung out there.

Dad took this cool art shot of a big piece of drift wood on the beach.

Here I come to save the day! Wait... I'm an eighth grader... not Mighty Mouse.

August wasn't as busy as July, but we still had to get Maria back to Chicago and visit Bebe and TC in Florida and have Aunt Maggie come to Portland to keep Caroline company and then get Lucie back to Oregon and watch a Total Solar Eclipse... total solar eclipse... total solar eclipse... I also had to work on processing all the pictures from Down Under. I've turned 3400+ into 350+ which I'm trying to format into pages for a book, but I'm on page 15 of what I think will ultimately be 85-ish pages. I'm sure I'll be done by Christmas... Of course, things will get a lot slower next month since I actually have to finally go back to work! I mean... get to go back... yeah... that's what I mean. Lucie, I think, is actually excited to be back at school.

I thought I might have more to say for this month, but really I think I covered it all in the first few lines. Maybe I will have more to say in September after I have returned to work and know what I might actually be working on...
