November 2016

November 30th: Amazingly Dad pulls another month out in the nick of time! That's Awesome!

Well, after last month's comments about the upcoming election, I really have nothing to say about the now past election... I guess I can at least say, "Way to go Forest Grove!" (We're going to collect our 3% sales tax on all pot sales in the city, so we got that goin' for us, which is nice...)

Otherwise, this month involved a bit of travel with a business trip to Japan and a Thanksgiving trip to Florida. However, you'll get to see that in the pictures. Which means I should think of something else witty to say here... How about:

  • Give a man a match, and he'll be warm for a minute, but set him on fire, and he'll be warm for the rest of his life.
  • The real trouble with reality is that there's no background music.
  • Everyone is entitled to be stupid, but some abuse the privilege.
  • A train station is where the train stops. A bus station is where the bus stops. On my desk, I have a work station...

Maybe you should just move on to the pictures...

Dad just wanted you to know what Nagoya looks like from the Marriott... Dad's idea of the perfect sushi... beef fish! Dad says this is part of the Kiyomizu-dera Temple. Looks like Dad broke his own rule and took one selfie to prove he was at the Heianjingu Shrine...
And you can probably figure out this is the Kinkajuji Temple (at least if I tell you that means Golden Pavilion...) While Dad was in Japan I decided to do some art photography right here in our yard! I also thought you might want to see how Buttercup is doing... I think this is actually Mom's art photo shot on our way to Florida...
Let me give you a quick tour of The Villages: pools, rec centers, dancing in the square, the Rural King, more music in the square, Scooter the DJ, Lake Sumpter, and post Thanksgiving at the country club... We also went to Cape Canaveral - really, that's us at the bottom of the shuttle boosters. And here I am again! - can you find me in front of the Atlantis? Really? That's impressive... I'm not there! Houston... We have a problem! Thank goodness we're only pretending to be in space...
We're not in Cape Canaveral anymore... Actually we're all hanging out in St. Augustine now! Dad just wanted to give you a little taste of America's oldest city... You can find the Fountain of Youth in St. Augustine... but most people are really looking for Gator Bob's... Tanto wasn't impressed (with the Ripley's Believe It Or Not replica... what did you think Dad meant?)
We also toured the Castillo de San Marcos... I don't know what Mom did to get in trouble... I don't really know why Dad included this one... He said he just thought it was a cool picture... Then he got all "arty" with these O'Hare layover pictures... We made it home! Are we a motley crew or what? No, I didn't say we are Mötley Crüe...
