June 2016

July 4th: OK! OK! So technically Dad blew it! Give the guy a break... he was traveling...

So I'm a little late this month... build a bridge and get over it.

Tell you what... I'll throw in a few extra pictures from the beginning of July to make it up to you. And I'll even throw in a few photo shoot pictures of Lucie and friends at the park. And if you act now I'll even throw in a set of Ginsu knives and all you pay is shipping and handling! But maybe I'm getting a little carried away.

As usual, I really don't have too much to say. I could try to turn this into a political blog and comment on Hillary or Donald or the Brexit but it is really all just too depressing to spend any time writing about it all. It was funny going to see "Wait, wait don't tell me!" on the day of the Brexit vote since the count wasn't final when they started recording so they had to guess which way it was going to go and make their jokes but then be prepared to re-record parts of the show if the answer changed... It was interesting to see how they record a "live" show and then fix pieces of it after the fact.

I would like to point out that Caroline has put up with me now for 20 years! I'd say I must be doing something right, but I think it is really more just her willingness to keep working on a project no matter how long it takes... Whatever the reason - I'm very glad she continues to keep me around!

Enjoy all the pictures and I'll try to get back on track next month...

Back at the beginning of June when it was actually warm, Cream Cheese and Cheesecake enjoyed playing on the deck... Dad says we all couldn't have looked less excited if we tried... but I bet we could have if someone had asked! Look at that silly dog run... What kind of a doofus would run up and down the hill like that...
Was I excited about the last day of school or just celebrating my awesome fashion sense? This is my tribe. Buttercup and I went back to elementary school to play on the playground... The sky really did look cool, but I think Dad Photo-shopped it up a bit...
And then Dad and I went to a different playground to find something more his speed! Doesn't Buttercup look "mahvalous"? Quinn is usually so much taller... Like sands through the hour glass...
While Dad "slaves a way at work" Mom takes us to the beach! (and you know Dad would rather be at work than deal with us...) For their wedding anniversary, Dad took me to see them record "Wait, wait, don't tell me!" On our way to Florida we found a litter of puppies at the Portland airport! I wasn't able to sneak one into my backpack though... Of course I found another friend at Bebe and TC's right away (even if he wasn't as cuddly as the puppy...)
We had to go the Square at Brownwood where there was much dancing and frivolity (even if Dad only did the "Making the Pizza" dance in the stands) And of course, it is always great fun to play in the pool... At least until someone gets hurt... just kidding! I was just goofing around... And taking underwater narcissisties! Is that a good look, or what?!
I understand that TC "whomped up on" Dad, beating him 3 games to 0... Here we are after our lunch at the ESOPSOMBMMWIRAMPWIDCC (you know, the Evans Sort Of Prairie Sort of Marsh But Mostly Marsh When It Rains And Mostly Prairie When It Doesn't Country Club...) And here we are after our lunch at the Lighthouse Point Bar and Grill - can you tell Dad faked this one? I didn't actually see any gators to feed...
But Dad went to the wetlands preserve and saw a lot of wildlife... he says he saw the gator there, but... I guess Bebe was ready to get rid of Dad at this point! And I don't think his attempt to appeal really helped! Dad refers to this one as a "product placement" photo...
And this was from before someone broke the park sign... The gang of four... We're supposed to be The Breakfast Club, but we needed a Fifth and Mom didn't jump right in... Dad said we should try the Charlie's Angels pose too, but I don't think Amelie and Quinn nailed it like I did...
Who's a doofus? We're all doofi... But who's Queen of the Doofi? That's right! Mom actually took this one - it's better than all of Dad's! And Mom took this one too... But Dad did the psychedelic Photoshop work!
