January 2016

January 31st: Well, everything didn't work as planned, but Dad got something posted this month!

This month I decided to try something completely new. Actually I tried several new things at once... Lightroom CC to do the basic photo prep, Photoshop CC to do final edits, and WordPress to create the site... I'm sure that all that change is good for me, and I did learn some new things.

Hopefully Lucie wasn't hanging around while I was trying to figure out some of those new things or she probably learned some new things too... Or maybe she's already heard all those words before!

Anyway, for those who are technically sharp, you've already figured out that WordPress didn't work out and I'm still using Expression Web for now, but maybe I'll figure out how to use that "intuitive" web software before next month...

Welcome to 2016.

Yeah! I didn’t miss all the snow while we were in Texas last month! Buttercup and Axel had a great time in the snow... It looks like it snowed a lot, but I missed one day of school... Of course Dad just had to play with his new computer programs...
There was no show or anything... Dad just took more pictures at the barn. And he had to try to play around with the lighting... Dad turned old this year so I got Bebe and TC to come out and surprise him! See how happy he was about that! Or maybe it is just that hat he is so happy about...
Fortunately, some things never change... train cake for the engineer... This is Dad’s favorite birthday picture because he got the box almost completely in front of his face! Look at that haul! Don’t worry about the disco lights... I told you he turned old this year... but don’t worry, he only had cake...
I even got Mutaz and Chuck to come out for Dad’s party! Doesn’t Dad look so comfortable to be surrounded by friends and family... I think he just put this one in this month to get me back for all the pictures of him... The return of the palm tree hat… Mom really rocks the look, don’t you think?
Flippin’ Bisquits... and product placement... Look who won the Flippin' Bisquits championship cup! Of course, Dad wasn’t the only one with a birthday this month... Does Dad know romance or what? A new kitchen sink faucet?!
But at least he got her this balloon, right? No... Or these flowers? No... But he did make her this gluten free birthday cake from scratch (even the frosting!) Happy Birthday, Mom!
