December 5th: Give Dad an inch and he takes a mile...

Hey! I'm only 5 days late! I ran out of gas. I... I had a flat tire. I didn't have enough money for cab fare. My tux didn't come back from the cleaners. An old friend came in from out of town. Someone stole my car. There was an earthquake. A terrible flood. Locusts! IT WASN'T MY FAULT, I SWEAR TO GOD!

Actually, we just got in very late on Sunday (actually very early on Monday) and I've been on-call since getting back... (in fact, I had to stop this write up and respond to an on-call page. For those of you who are too young to know what a page is, it is now actually a text message, but back in the dark ages we actually had something called a pager on which you could get a short message telling you to call back... but I digress.)

Anyway, we did go on the annual (at least recently annual) Thanksgiving cruise, and thus most of this month's pictures are dedicated to that. Beyond that I don't really have much to say, so just enjoy.

Actually, there is one more thing... You can click here and hopefully see our Thriller Flash Mob!

Dad just wanted to have something that wasn't a cruise picture... Cream Cheese also wanted to say hello this month... I'm not even sure this is from this month, but isn't Petunia cute? Starting at three in the morning makes for a long travel day...
Dad didn't include a sail away picture, but the cruise started with a nice sunset after a rainy day... And the cruise started with lots of hugs... but Lucie just had to "almost touch" Tanto... (that makes more sense if you saw the comedian the first night...) Like any cruise ship, this one had a swimming pool... But this one also had a lawn...
The Rockettes probably have nothing to worry about... We toured a fort in Old San Juan. And then after the sun set we toured the city itself. Just to be clear, this wasn't our cruise ship...
We also stopped in St. Kitts on this cruise. Our sister ship was in port at the same time we were. Mom wanted to make sure that Dad showed up in at least one picture... along with Tanto, me, Katy, and Jim. We wanted a picture where Jim was pulling the ship in, but this looks more like he is in a hurry to get out of port instead!
Nevertheless we went sailing in the afternoon: Dad doing the selfie thing, Tanto just hanging out under the sails, TC lookin' cool, and somehow I grew a tail... We did actually go snorkling as well... On St. Marteen we went horseback riding with Darrel. He took Dad's camera so we could prove that Dad was actually on a horse too... (obviously so was Mom.)
Of course, Tanto went too, but she looks less excited than Dad? At the end of the ride we got to ride right into the ocean! Gran rode with us too, but I don't know what happened trying to get her picture... After the ride, Dad just started taking pictures of the scenery and caught this butterfly...
Later he also went around the ship taking more pictures... Here I am with Gran and Mad Dog and BeBe and TC... Probably the only time the Carrikers will ever out number the Shapards... Don't we clean up nicely?
Our attempt at the egg drop contest didn't turn out as we hoped... But we had a great time being Thriller zombies with Rachel and Tom and Jennifer! Dad got a sunrise picture for arriving back in Florida to go with his sail away sunset. And then he had to play with Photoshop...
And then most of us spent most of the day sitting in the Ft. Lauderdale airport... Of course, we also got to spend hours in Denver so our sunny Thanksgiving holidays ended with snow... I ended the trip sleeping on the plane... Dad ended the trip taking more pictures...
