November 2013

December 1st: Dad says you should cut him some slack, but we got home at 9pm... He could have had the web site done on November 30th!

Well, last month was all about the puppy, and this month... two measly pictures... What can I say - the novelty wore off pretty fast. OK - now that all the dog lovers are riled up, I guess I'll move on...

You can also see that Gran and Mad Dog came out to visit. They actually did get pretty good weather given that they chose to visit in November, but you can clearly see that going to the Caribbean in November is a better choice than going to Oregon. Nevertheless it was a good visit and Gran got to see Buttercup and go riding with Lucie...

Then you can see that nothing happened the rest of the month.

OK - what really happened is that work got to be a bit too much and I spent all my time there rather than at home right up until it was time to go on our Thanksgiving trip. Actually, we did have one more bit of excitement when the kitchen sink plumbing failed on Thursday night just before we left on Friday for our trip! Yeah! Fortunately, a quick trip to Home Depot and I found the right kind of pipe this time to fix the drain so that it wouldn't come apart again... now I just need to figure out why the garbage disposal is loose... You just can't find good help these days (oh wait - :-( I did the plumbing on the new kitchen)

And, of course, the month ended with a week in the Caribbean. I'll let the photos cover that. Fortunately, we made it home despite having three flights and two tight connections - nothing like running through the Charlotte and Phoenix airports only to find the next flight isn't really on time and that boarding is just getting underway... Beats the alternative of missing the plane though...

Just hanging out with my peeps... The Christmas puppy! Can't wait to try to take a Christmas card photo... Wait! That's not me! Gran went riding with me at the barn. There I am... But what happened to Gran?
There we are. But now Dad is trying to be creative again... Here we are sailing away from Port Everglades. I don't know what Dad means - "Bebe and Caroline couldn't wait to get started..." I couldn't wait either! Into the pool right after dinner!
I think three of me would be great! Just noodling around at Princess Cay with Bebe and TC Dad wants you to think he was wind surfing, but he's just standing in the water taking a selfie! Even Mom went in the water! It really wasn't that cold once you got in... (but you won't see her in the pool - it was cold!)
TC turned out to be quite the golfer - he beat Dad by 5 strokes on the back 9! See! I told you she wasn't getting in the pool! Dad trying to be creative on the front of the ship... We went to see a lot of shows - I really liked the hypnotist, but this show made a better picture...
Bebe and TC really put on a show too! But only in the hallway where no one else was dancing. Dad wants you to think that's him kite-boarding, but he's taking the picture! We had some great surf at Orient Beach on St. Martin (on the French side, not the Dutch side of St. Maarten...) That's Robert in front of Dad in their kayak, and this is probably the only time Mom and I were in front...
We saw a lot of hermit crabs on the island that we kayaked to... The surf was a little rougher on the far side of the island. Mom got hold of the camera long enough to get at least one picture of Dad. Thank goodness the drama in this picture is all faked by the camera - but it did rain on us on the kayak trip back...
The ride back to the ship at St. Thomas was a little bit fast on the winding roads - Dad looks a little ill... Mom doesn't like to be in the picture, but I think she looks really glamorous in this one... Here we are sailing off into the sunset... What better way to start Thanksgiving than decorating a cookie and eating it by the pool?
Well... you could go snorkeling with barracuda... Or you could go snorkeling with sharks! Yes, Dad put those two pictures together, but we did see the shark and it really was that big! Then I got to hold a sting ray! And we saw several more just swimming around (but not as many as I had hoped to see...)
Then we watched the sun set on Grand Turk (Dad says he didn't mess with this picture at all.) Our pre-dinner drink... Dad and I got the best drinks ever night - Chococobanana! It is dangerous when Dad takes a selfie... But it is far worse when I do it!
After a whole week of great weather, our last day at sea was a little rough... And the day of flying home was even rougher...
