June 30th: Lots of pictures from the Shapard family get together this month

I should probably have a lot to say this month since we went all the way to Michigan...

I haven't gotten nearly enough done... I started another desk. This one will be more traditional than the last one. Or at least it will be if I ever get it done, along with working on the deck and the kitchen counters and maybe putting sprinklers in to the upper end of the lot so we can finally grow something there...

And, yes, we did go to Michigan. Over all, the trip worked out pretty well. We left Portland more or less on time, and we had plenty of time to make our connection in Denver since they shut the whole airport down and sent us underground for the tornado warning. Fortunately, it didn't hit the airport and we were less than an hour late leaving for Chicago. On the way back, we were late leaving Chicago due to a thunderstorm, but our flight out of Denver was even later, so we made it home.

Michigan was great. We had good weather the whole time. We went to the lake, swan feeding, the pool, swan feeding, horse back riding, swan feeding, fishing, swan feeding, strolling through town, swan feeding, and did I mention swan feeding? All in all, it was quite relaxing and I really had no interest in going back to work, but since Caroline refuses to win the lottery...

My bicycling range is growing... next up a bike with gears... Spring is in the air... Dad says "and so is the pollen..." I tackled the BMX course at Lincoln Park, but I really need those gears... Truffle and Plushie discuss making a break for it.
Dad forgot about these pictures and snuck them in later... I'm getting better at riding! And this is Petunia the minature mule. We got to see the bowels of the Denver airport... fortunately the tornado didn't actually hit the airport... Everyone kept referring to "Baywatch", but I don't know what that is...
Dad gets artsy with the seagull shot... But, we were only on Lake Michigan, so I guess they're really lakegulls... This is what happens when Mom tries to get Dad and me to pose for a picture. Of course, I was happy to pose with Maria for Brooke...
Until Mom had to "photo bomb" us! Dad says you're lucky because he is only going to show one swan photo, but they were the best part of the trip! He says he's also only going to show you one sunset photo... And then he was too lazy to get up for fishing with Maria, Jack, and Uncle Mark... Mom had to take this one.
All the "men" were all excited about some swimsuit photo shoot at the beach - I don't get what the big deal was... Look! I can synchronize swim with myself! Sam, me, Luke, and Maria finding different ways to get in the pool... Sitting on the dock of the bay... Luke, Sam, Uncle Greg, Leeza, and me
The swans swam away for the night... Dad had to take group shots throughout the week too - me, Aunt Susan, Mom, Aunt Maggie, Mad Dog, Gran, Charlie, and Uncle Greg Dad says "Where did I have to be to get this shot? At the end of the line, of course!" This one looks cooler - you'd think I was really out riding the trail this way...
Dad had fun too - just look at that smile... He says he reached an agreement with Donut, but I don't know what he is talking about... Most of the time at the beach was warm, but not today. And you can see what Dad thought of the water! Big wuss it was two degrees warmer than the first day when it was 58... We're all back on the dock to feed the swans.
One more day in the lake... it was hot today and that made the cold water even better! Dad really tried to get a big group picture... (you might have to wait for it to load) The last day we went to the art barn and I painted these little guys... Before dinner we met a man with some birds so I had to let one walk around on me!
Before we went back to the airport, Uncle Dan gave me a ride on the pond. Mom and Dad are such goofs!
