August 31st: Amazing how it is all about Lucie even when she spends most of the month away

I don't really have much to say this month. We started with a busy weekend, getting in the trail ride to raise a little money for B.E.A.T. (thanks to everyone who contributed) and then seeing Lyle Lovett at the zoo. No, he wasn't an exhibit - we have concerts on the lawn... As usual, he didn't have an opening act - he did have about 15 people in the large band, and he did perform for a couple of hours. This time he even managed to perform all of Caroline's favorites, including L.A. County.

Then it was time to take Lucie to Georgia. We went to the beach, caught a baseball game, attended the theater, and tried to avoid the heat and humidity as much as possible, and then Lucie sent me packing so she could spend a couple weeks in Georgia without her parents. So what did we do to take advantage of her being away? Not too much really...

We caught up on the last season of Dexter (only a few more episodes to go...) We picked out a replacement counter, backsplash, and sink for the kitchen (but it will be a while before construction starts.) And, we did go to a movie, but it was so good that I already forgot what it was...

Maybe we'll find something more exciting for September...

The trail ride wasn't as long as I had hoped it would be, but I got to ride Dixie! There's Mom, hanging out in her hoodie in August... Dad says this one should be titled "Monkey in a hat eating pizza at the zoo" It was tough waiting for Lyle to start, but the concert was great!
Mom and Dad say this is another one that I'll regret later in life, but I have no idea what they are talking about... No really - dinner was delicious... Another trip to Georgia, another Sand Gnats game... Good thing the entertainment was funny 'cause the Gnats lost again. Bebe wasn't really trying to beat me with the noodle, Dad just says it looks like she was.
Of course, we also had to just hang out on the beach... And Dad had to get "artsy" with the camera - I look huge! We also went to the Savannah Theater, but we got there a little early so TC and I "snuggled up" on a bench... I don't know who Elton John is, so I really didn't get the costume...
But I got to dance in the aisle with Michelle (and she even stopped for a picture)! After Dad left, I got to go to the pet store and hold the bunny... And see the feral cats... And visit with Steve and Ginger and hold "Pity Kitty"...
Somebody thought this would be funny, but who is going to believe my feet are this big? No telling what TC was making up while we were sitting on Stone Mountain... We visited with Grosse Tante Leah and checked out the Crossville library. Look at how sweet I am... the butterflies thought I was a flower!
But I don't think the birds liked me as much as they liked the bread... What happens in Georgia is supposed to stay in Georgia, but don't believe these pictures - I didn't eat that all by myself! And I had to help TC clean up the boat after the trip to River Street, so I probably worked it off anyway... The trip was almost over, but I did eventually get an anole.
What a way to end the summer... next week it is back to school!
