July 2012

July 31st: Once again, Dad pulls it off and gets an update out just in time...

Some things really heated up in July.  The weather was not one of those things.  Actually, we did have some warm weather just after the 4th - seemed like old times with sunnier skies and higher temperatures.  Then the cool, wet weather returned... or maybe that's just the way it seemed with Lucie in Georgia for a couple of weeks.

Of course, when we went to Georgia to get Lucie, we were treated to "lovely" warm weather again, and we just wanted to get out of the heat...

Anyway - lots of pictures this month with the return from Chicago and Bebe coming out to get Lucie and Mom and Dad going to Georgia to bring her back, plus a little bit of something other than "all Lucie all the time..."  Maybe next month you'll even get to see Bob (who survived another boarding at the vet (or should I say the vet survived another visit from Bob?))

The gold finches continue to eat us out of house and home... Returning from Chicago - look at how excited Lucie is to see her Daddy! The notorious L&L Gang... are they criminals or "ganstas"?  Or maybe they aren't even notorious... Maybe they just like to feed birds at the zoo...
In this set, you can see that I am all about nutrition and... ...good table manners! This year fireworks returned to Forest Grove and we went to see them... be sure to stay for the whole show! I'm working on my hand stands now...
Though I really enjoy dancing in the yard more. I wanted to show off my bike riding, but some mean old biker bully took it away from me and rode away... Harry's hydrangea is doing really well. In this scene, the young biker tries to reclaim her ride with an impressive flip kick, but the mean old biker bully appears to counter the attack...
Look!  Over there!  Ha ha - made you look :-) Bebe says this makes me look like I'm in Australia, but they just look like any old trees to me... Here I am as a big orange bowling ball... of course, every pin has a back story and a personality, so that makes it a little harder to just mow them down... Despite the bird nest ("nests" actually - now there is a 2nd nest in a different plant) we managed to keep these looking pretty good through July.
Mom doesn't really want to be on the website, but this way the picture is "artistic", so maybe she won't complain too much... We also have a robin's nest way up in the top of one of our trees.  Look closely for the baby birdie... Dad is really working on the "fine art" angle this month... Here I am in Georgia with my first anole...
Mom wasn't supposed to see this.  You know she is just going to push for chores at home now...  But remember, Mom - "What happens in Georgia, stays in Georgia..." While I was in Georgia, we went to the Aquarium... ...and to the zoo! Look!  I put the whole thing together!  Ok... so I put some of it together, but I put the last piece in, so that means I built the puzzle, right?
Dad tries to stay behind the camera as much as possible, but I got him to play with the bubbles for a little while... He didn't want to stand near me while I fed the sea gulls though!  Mom is made of sterner stuff though, and she helped out! Bebe or TC managed to get this shot with Mom and Dad to prove they actually went in the ocean while they were in Georgia... This is Mario and me!  When I'm not being a vet when I grow up, I'm going to be a comedian!  Or maybe I'll be a comedian vet and help all the animals get better with laughter!
Wasn't it nice of all those people to crowd down at the other end of the Paula Dean Store so Daddy could get this picture? I didn't even know I liked bees until we went to the bee store and I met someone who was very excited about them - everyone learned a bunch about bees! The thunder kept us out of the pool, but I got to take Mom to Obstacle Park! Dad didn't take any pictures of TC and him pigging out on beignets... instead you can see us ladies heading out for a Savannah tour...
After weeks of no success, Dad caught a butterfly, and after only a few minutes of captivity it was willing to sit in my hand! After I whupped up on Dad a few times, he wouldn't play Sorry with me any more...
